Reckless & A Bit Insane: Part Two

I did it again. I made another road trip alone.

Where to? Chicago of course! I got the idea over a phone call with my friend Jessica & before we knew it, it was all settled: I would request the time off from work & meet her there for St. Patrick's Day weekend.

The morning finally arrived & I made the 6-ish hour drive. Ohio was sunny, Indiana was full of toll-roads. When I finally made it to Illinois, it was nothing but traffic. I felt great to finally see the Chicago skyline. I wish I wasn't driving so I could have soaked in the view a little more.

We had a grand old time watching the Chicago River dyed green in the freezing cold. Afterwards, we strolled the streets. It was SUCH a great time to people-watch! Everyone & their dogs (literally) were dressed up in some sort of green. Chicago is a fascinating city & I feel that I have not even scratched the surface!

Before I knew it, it was time to leave. On the trip home I was able to stop a in Indianapolis, IN for an hour or so. I wandered what I think was downtown. People were scarce which was a little creepy but I managed to take a few photographs of the city. The war memorial I found blatantly ridiculous. It sparked my cynicism & made me angry. "Indians defeated" UGH. Yet I photographed it. Why? Because it's history, as tragic & unfair as it may be.

Moving on, I wanted to stop in Cleveland, OH as well but it was getting late & I thought I should leave some things unexplored for next time!
